What is the process of developing a utility-scale solar infrastructure asset?

  1. Sourcing – it is not feasible to build solar assets on any bit of land. With the expertise of the Gaia Renewables team we can identify the best pieces of land.
  2. Assessment – once these sites have been identified further analysis must be conducted ensuring safe and effective solar installations that minimise impact on nearby residents and do the maximum amount of good for local wildlife.
  3. Planning and Approvals – once the correct site has been chosen we will work with local planners and the local DNO to ensure the solar installation meets the requirements of the local authority and the abilities of the local electricity network.
  4. Design – by looking at the current supply chain and the requirements of the proposed solar farm objectives our design team will create the most effective design.
  5. Construction – our partner company Shiney Electrical can conduct all construction work ensuring that there is seamless communication between the developer, Gaia Renewables, and our constructor.
  6. Integration – connecting the installation to the grid both physically and the negotiation of suitable Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) with an electricity company.
  7. Management – ongoing management of the asset both in terms of regular physical testing, repanelling, and maintenance, and the repeated renegotiation of PPAs or other electricity generation monetisation opportunities.

  1. Contact us – enjoy a free, no-obligation chat to find out a little more about how we can help.
  2. Home visit – one of the team will pop round and give you a more specific idea of what different solar PV and battery storage could do to your electricity bills and environmental impact.
  3. Site survey – once you are happy to go ahead we will conduct an in-depth site survey to ensure we are installing a safe, efficient system in your home.
  4. Installation – not long after your site survey we will erect scaffolding and get your system installed aiming to minimise disruption to you as much as possible.
  5. Handover – final checks on the installation including a guide on how to operate your brand spanking new solar PV system.
  6. Ongoing support – we not going to disappear once you have your new installation. If you have any ongoing questions on operation or maintenance we are always just a phone call away to help!
