30 million people to abandon the grid
A new study has been released which predicts that 30 million people across Europe could power their homes entirely by solar panels.
The research by Max Kleinebrahm et al. has predicted that through a multitude of influencing factors that the world’s entire energy consumption by 2050 could be cost effectively covered by solar technology and other renewables.
The factors driving this seismic change is fuelled by solar power costs dropping 90% over the last decade and the recent developments in advanced solar panel technology utilising perovskite solar cells. The study, focused on 41 million homes in Europe demonstrates that in the very near future we could be facing a revolution in how the world fuels its ever-increasing demand for energy and electricity.
Indeed, a recent article by Anthony Cuthbertson of The Independent that reported on this story highlighted how another recent study by the University of Exeter, and University College London stated that it believed that solar technology had reached a tipping point that will see solar PV gradually come to dominate global electricity projects without any further climate policies.
If you are in Cornwall and want to get involved in the solar revolution and see how you can save the planet and reduce your electricity bills significantly, then get in touch and we would be happy to help.
