An announcement from the UK government today has outlined some fantastic new updates to planning legislation to help the UK meet its net zero targets. Residential properties with flat roofs can now install solar panels without the need for costly and time consuming planning permission. which brings it in line with the existing rules for commercial properties. Additionally, the 1MW restriction on industrial rooftop solar installations has also been removed. 

Combined these updates to planning and permitted development rights will continue to fuel the acceleration of solar power generation in the UK.
