October Update 2023
Find out a bit more about what the Gaia Renewables team has been up to in October from hydro power to community solar panelling.
October has proved to be an exciting month in Cornwall’s renewable energy sector. As the team put out there pumpkins and Halloween decorations we thought it was a great opportunity to give ourselves a pat on the back for some great work this month.
One of our most exciting projects to date commenced planning. A commercial client has approached us to find out about what options they have for renewable electricity generation. Before you think that we are only talking about solar panels, think again. With a stream on site, open fields for a modest ground-mounted solar array, and a steady wind blowing down the valley this Cornish hospitality business is ready to become a case study in small-scale renewable electricity generation. With tonnes of CO2 emissions being prevented a year, and innovative new technologies being installed we can’t wait to share videos and pictures of this project with you as it continues to develop.
On the subject of commercial clients we have been incredibly excited to attend a webinar by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Hub about what grant funds are available at the moment (yes we will be applying for our next growth phase). But perhaps even more excitingly there are a series of grants available for businesses and social enterprises in Cornwall to decarbonise which absolutely includes projects implementing renewable electricity generation. If you are interested in accessing grant funding for solar panels or any other renewable electricity generation at your business please get in touch and we can point you in the right direction.
Finally, we have been really excited to tender for a solar panelling and battery storage project for our local community. We have always been of the opinion that through running a successful business we have a wonderful opportunity to benefit our local community. Whether that is through offering training to our employees, delivering renewable electricity to combat the climate emergency, or in this case offering a tight-knit community the chance to gain a valuable asset.
Monthly updates have been a great way of looking back and appreciating everything that has been achieved this month so look forward to seeing these each month. As always if you want to find out more about what we do at Gaia Renewables, from solar panels, to battery storage, to other renewable technologies then don’t forget to have a look at our website or get in touch.
